Visceral Manipulation in London Ontario
Visceral manipulation was developed in the 70's and 80's by French Osteopath Jean Pierre Barral. Visceral manipulation has gained an important recognition as one of the alternative natural therapies to address issues afflicting a considerable amount of the world population.
New to the general population, Visceral manipulation can normalize proper functioning of visceral organs , nerves, vascular tissues, membranes, ligaments, lymphatic tissues and glands in the body. Visceral Organs and glands are the soft internal structures in the body localized in the thoracic , abdominal or pelvic region, i.e. the thyroid, bronchus, esophageal hiatus, esophagus, pancreas, spleen, stomach, liver, gallbladder, Pleura, heart, the lungs, common bile duct, duodenum, small intestine, cecum, colon, rectum, prostate, kidneys, ureter, peritoneum, bladder, uterus, and ovaries.
EXAMINATION OF VISCERAL ORGANS
Evaluation of visceral organs and their relation to the fascial or ligament attachments to the musculoskeletal system are an important part of the examination, their interrelation and how they affect one structure in relation to another.
Visceral organs retain an inherent movement that relates to the embryological development during early fetal formation. This is called motility is an important component during the assessment of visceral organs.
For visceral organs to function in their own natural optimum state, they have to move and glide , free of restrictions, but normal mobility is not always the case as organs are affected by physical or emotional trauma, injuries, accidents, surgical procedures, hormonal imbalances, scar or adhesions formation, and diet among others.
