Osteopathy helps with rebalancing joints, ligaments, muscles, fascia, tendons, and organs, based on the principles that :
- Structure and function are reciprocally interrelated which means restrictions in joints, and tissues will affect function of certain organs and vice versa.
- For all parts of the body to function properly, they need a constant supply of blood for nourishment.
- The body is a single dynamic unit of function; mind, body and spirit as one, no single part functions independently.
- The body is capable of healing itself, it just needs to be guided in the right direction.
Osteopathy was developed in Kirksville, Missouri, USA in 1870 by Andrew Taylor Still. His aim was to develop a natural approach to balance the body for optimal body function and health.
